To be honest, I can’t really remember what “Silent Night” actually sounds like, but I’m not convinced that this is it. There are a lot of pressing questions here: Whose pets are these? Why are all of these animals howling? Are they hungry? Why do they look so insane? How does the guy in the recliner watch TV through all this ruckus? Who in Moog’s name scored the tinny, lunatic Nokia-ringtone-maker synth backing soundtrack? More importantly, why would one person have all that video footage in the first place? Finally, why is it so funny?

These are questions we can’t answer. Like hieroglyphs carved into stone, this video will stand the test of time until future alien archaeologists wonder why ancient Egypt and the modern internet are both so obscenely obsessed with incomprehensible art and cats. Rather than flail about in an attempt to explain it all, I’d rather just quote YouTube “commenter Crandle”:: “Oh! How Joyous and cute! This is what the internet should be used for, fun lighthearted videos! Bless You!”

Bless you indeed.
