The Inflation Kills Break a Ten-Year Silence with 'Grounds For Termination'

The punk band's latest EP will kick your ass.

After a seemingly endless ten-year hiatus, the Inflation Kills have finally put out a new EP. Hailing from Hamilton Ontario, a despondent industrial town, the band formed from the ashes of Canadian punk powerhouses Kitchens and Bathrooms (Sonic Unyon/Forge Again) and Hoosier Poet (TikTokTikTok MUSIC!), with a member of TV FREAKS (Deranged). The EP is punchy loud, unapologetic and a headbanger through and through. It's full of distorted, straight to the point punk anthems that feature spacious vocals and a heavy low end. The band was put on hold as their guitarist/singer Phil Williams moved up to Northern Ontario to become a principal at a K-9 school. Phil was also featured on the hilariously weird Canadian Comedy Central show Keys to the VIP in which two PUA contestants venture into a club and complete challenges associated with seducing women as a panel of "pick up artists" evaluate their performance. Who said that Canadian TV sucks?

The Inflation Kills decided to keep the project homemade within Canadian borders. "Grounds for Termination was made, from start to finish, in Hamilton," explains singer Phil Williams. "We opted to stay local and work with our old friend Sean Pearson who had helped us start to demo some of the songs in early 2005, before all of our lives became a little more complex."
