Premiere: Whoop-Szo Reminisce on 8mm in "Niizhwaaswi"

Taking it back to a time when we didn't have high definition.

We've spoken about the conflict of being Whoop Szo, the native psychedelic pop art duo, in the past. The duo has been making music, t-shirts, and just art in general in the northern region of Quebec for years, drawing on the storied past of those who called the area home for inspiration. Now their latest video for "Niizhwaaswi," which translates into "seven" shows the sort of activities most commonly associated with growing up in the northern regions of Canada. The footage used actually comes from an old 8mm film that a friend's grandparents made in Northern Ontario, and is soundtracked by the moody compositions of Whoop Szo, who use everything from synths to electric guitars to drive their sound.

Whoop Szo will be going on tour with WTCHS and will be releasing a new tour only cassette split.
