If you're not already familiar with Anderson .Paak from his impressive guest spots on Dr. Dre's Compton and Nxworries, his ace collaboration with Los Angeles based production giant Knxwledge, you'll soon know the name. Anderson premiered a new solo track called "The Season/Carry Me" on Dre's bimonthly weekend Beats 1 show The Pharmacy. It's a downcast two-part scorcher where the singer details the dangers of the hip-hop game as he rises in it and watches others fall. ("Fuck fame, that killed all my favorite entertainers.") .Paak weaves soulful vocals and pointed raps throughout, braiding excitement for his future with a shrewd acknowledgment of how easy it is for it all to go away.
