Watch Jamie xx Give "Loud Places" Its TV Debut with the Rest of the xx

Spend ages critically deconstructing it in relation to the socio-economic state of London's club life, or enjoy it as piece of good music. Y'know, whichever.

Jamie xx's latest album In Colour has only been out for two days, and it's already become the most critically debated musical event since Nicki Minaj's powersquat. It's been described as "safe rave" on Boomkat, summarised by the Quietus as "if Foxton's did club music…", and then Pitchfork hailed it as the best thing ever, giving it a cool 9.3. As for Noisey, we dubbed "I Know There's Gonna Be Good Times"—his collab track with Young Thug and Popcaan—the song of the summer and then published an entire essay about how In Colour might be his crossover album.

Anyway, you have ears so let's use them! Last night, Jamie xx gave "Loud Places" its TV debut on Le Grand Journal in France with a little help from fellow the xx bandmates Romy Madley-Croft and Oliver Sim, plus Warpaint drummer Stella Mozgawa and a full on choir for extra feels. Watch the performance above and spend ages critically deconstructing it in relation to the socio-economic state of London's club life. Or enjoy it as a piece of good music. Y'know, whichever.
