Listen to a Bruising Guest Mix by Grime Don Jampak

Settle down with 30 minutes of the most upfront, club-ready grime of 2016.

Ahead of a set at the Nest in Dalston later this month, grime DJ extraordinaire Jampak's served us up the spiciest Christmas treat we've ever received. Apart from the time that Father Christmas slid us a few curry slices from Greggs rather than oranges.

The Mode FM DJs had a cracking year and if you've not already splashed out on a ticket to see him play alongside other THUMP faves like Royal T, Sir Spyro, and Kahn & Neek on the 16th then we strongly advise you rectify that now. It'll probably set you back less than the aforementioned slices, too.

To get you in the mood for that, Jampak's put together this bruising half hour of the finest club-ready grime around. Featuring the likes of JME, Plastician, and Champion, we're pretty sure you'll have an even better time with it than the bloke from the Evening Standard did at the Skepta show last weekend.

Tune into the mix and a brief conversation with Jampak himself below.

THUMP: 2016…what was THAT all about!?
Jampak: 2016 was a great year for UK music and I'm happy to see grime music at the forefront of it.

Does music have the power to sooth, to heal, to salve?
100%. Music can make you forget about a lot of your personal issues.

How long would you last in a world without music?
Not a single second.

When was the last time a song made you SCREAM with JOY?
Two songs that came out around the same time. "Trumpet Boom" by Treble Clef and "Topper Top" by Sir Spyro w/ Teddy Bruckshot, Lady Chan & Killa P.

If you could buy the whole world a christmas gift, what'd it be? You've got a budget of a tenner.
A ticket to the show at the Nest!

Jampak plays the Nest on December 16th. More info and tickets available here.
