Even if you're not a regular rager, it's hard to deny that the generic nature of clubs and arenas fail to match the exhilarating thrill of rave culture in lesser known settings. We've taken the time to pick out some unconventional locations around Van City that satisfy this lack of adventure.

Wreck Beach

When it's not overrun with naked 60-year-olds, Wreck Beach is a sandy, expansive dance floor perfect for a large-scale party.

- Homeless people seeking empty beer cans makes for an easy cleanup.

Cons:
- Limited power sources.
- Trying to avoid blacking out while walking up 500 stairs.

Vancouver Lookout

This place is a mile-high mosh pit waiting to happen. The best part is you can actually rent it out. Nobody needs to know that your "company fundraiser" may involve ten kegs and copious amounts of psychedelics.

- One hell of a view.
- Complimentary Wi-Fi.

Cons:
- Only a 220-person capacity.
- Questionable glass strength.

- Working real foghorns into the DJ's set.
- 360-degree washroom access.

Cons:
- Taking a mid-party siesta and waking up in Alaska.

UBC Residence Rooftop

- Easy to see campus security coming.
- Throwing anything off a roof is good fun.

- Creativity or serious networking required.
- An army of RAs.

SkyTrain Station

- Tunnel acoustics.
- Easy to change locations when the cops come.

- This is a recipe for another Vancouver riot.

- A very upset symphony orchestra.
