Here's Eminem's Three-Song 'SNL' Medley

He played "Walk on Water," "Stan," and "Love the Way You Lie" with Skylar Grey.

Eminem was the musical guest on last night’s Chance-hosted SNL. He did away with the standard two-song evening, instead bringing a three-track medley of “Walk on Water,” “Stan,” and “Love the Way You Lie" to 30 Rock.

As he was at last week’s MTV Europe Music Awards, Em was backed by Skylar Grey on piano and vocals. She filled in the melodies on all three tracks, taking over for Beyoncé, Dido, and Rihanna. With a full band and a sizeable string section, the nine-minute set felt professional without ever taking off. The transition between "Walk on Water" and "Stan" in particular felt like a too-slick wedding band moment. And, "Bitch, I wrote 'Stan'" is never going to hit half as hard as Eminem wants it to.

Still, It's nice to see someone playing with the standard SNL format, though it would have been nice to have a second new Eminem song to dig into this morning. Watch the full performance at the top of the page.
