Madeon's Immensely Collaborative Debut Album is Dropping on March 30

Five years in the making, Madeon's debut album, Adventure, will be dropping on Columbia Records on March 30. The album will pack in an enormous 18 tracks on the full "deluxe" version, seven of which will feature vocalists ranging from immensely prominent to curiously obscure. Madeon describes Adventure as capturing "the feeling and sensibility of [his] teenage years" and reveals that two of the album's centre pillars--collaborations with artists and performing his own vocals--were both uncharted territory for him.

If you've been following the French musician's releases, you'll no doubt be familiar with one such collaboration: "You're On" featuring Kyan (the track landed at a respectable No. 95 on our list of 101 Most Vital Tracks of 2014, mere weeks after its release). Bright and uplifting, it took us on a late-night drive and charmed us all the way to third base. According to the official tracklist, we can expect more such collaborations with the likes of Bastille's Dan Smith, the whole of Passion Pit, Mark Foster of Foster and the People, Aquilo, Nicholas Petricca, and Vancouver Sleep Clinic.

After working extensively with Ellie Goulding, Lady Gaga, Two Door Cinema Club, Muse, and Coldplay in 2013, many wondered what Madeon had occupied himself with over the past year. If the first two tracks fromAdventure are any indication, the time spent anticipating its release will be well worth the wait.
