See Melancholic Bitch, Catch Up on Two Sitcoms, Eat Too Much Dessert, and More This Weekend

If you dare, revisit one of the scariest survival horror video games ever, in the spirit of a spooky October.

Looking for some stuff to catch up on this weekend? Whether it's TV, movies, books, or anything in between—VICE has you covered. Read on for our staff recommendations on what to take in during your downtime:

GET SERIOUSLY SPOOKED BY 'EYES WITHOUT A FACE'

Tonight is the perfect time to scare the shit out of yourself because it's Friday the 13th and it's October aka "the Spookiest Month of the Year". Go watch one of the most-disturbing horror films of all time, Eyes Without a Face, which is an adaptation of a novel by the French writer Jean Redon. The film is about a surgeon who causes an accident that leaves his daughter's face disfigured, and he then resorts to all kinds of horrible ways to give her a new face. The film isn't very easy to watch—several people fainted during its premiere at the 1960 Edinburgh Film Festival. So proceed with caution! It starts at 8 pm at Kenobi Space in Kemang.—Alia Marsha

SEE MELANCHOLIC BITCH PERFORM SONGS ABOUT THE DARK DAYS OF THE NEW ORDER

When Melancholic Bitch announced a new album and a comeback show, you knew it was going to be in Yogyakarta. But now the band is ready for some more shows, this time in both Jakarta and Bandung! The Jakarta show will be at Rossi Music Fatmawati, and the Bandung at IFI. And check out our interview with Ugoran Prasad to learn more about NKKBS Bagian Pertama.— Ananda Badudu

TRY TO STAY ALIVE IN THE SURVIVAL HORROR VIDEO GAME 'DETENTION'

To celebrate Halloween, I've been watching horror movies and reading horror manga daily. I'm also revisiting Detention, a Taiwanese horror video game. Honestly, the game starts out really stupid: A student falls asleep in class, and no one else is there when he wakes up. He then tries to figure out what the fuck is going on. None of this would happen if he just sat still and listened to his teacher. If you're jumpy like me, this game is perfect for you because it's a side-scroller. I can't handle shit like Silent Hill because everything is constantly coming at you from different directions. With the creepy school atmosphere and great story, Detention is one of the best horror video games out there. If you're too scared to play solo, invite your best friends for a sleepover this weekend.—Katyusha Methanisa

SHED SOME TEARS WITH 'THIS IS US'

I'll be honest, I'm a huge fan of well-scripted television dramas—the kinds that can use the simplest scene to leave you with all kinds of feels. So, of course, I love This Is Us. The show tells the story of one family told through flashbacks that are building to a big reveal. We're only three episodes into the second season, so it's the perfect time to spend a lazy, rainy Sunday catching up.—Yudhistira Agato

OR LAUGH WITH 'YOUNG SHELDON'

The Big Bang Theory is a huge hit, but that doesn't mean Young Sheldon wasn't still a bit of a risk. The show's producers, by bringing Sheldon back to his childhood days, also take away some of his most-iconic traits. The lightsabers are gone. He doesn't say "Bazinga!" all the time. Even the laugh track is gone. Instead we are left with a family drama about what it's like to raise a kid with Sheldon's special kind of needs. You can watch this when you're not in the mood to cry over This Is Us.—Abdul Manan

STUFF YOUR FACE WITH MORE FOOD THAN YOU NEED AT 'CAKELICIOUS TURBO'

If you have a sweet tooth and you want to meet your idols, then you gonna love the Cakelicious Turbo Culinary Festival. Here, you'll find lots of celebrities' culinary businesses, with a heavy focus on cakes and pastries. If you're more of a savory type of person, then this festival offers you many options like Bakso Dorderrr, Bakmi Amoy, and Sahara Food. You can check this festival out at the hotel lobby of Lippo Mall Kemang, Jakarta until Sunday.—Audy Bernadus
