If you're running for president then it usually looks pretty good to get "backed" by the New York Times. A lot of smart people work there and for the most part they know what they're talking about. In the DJ world there's a similar type of exchange—except the goal is to get "backed" by other, more famous, DJs.

Sadly the Times doesn't often acknowledge excellence in the techno DJ category. You know who does, though? Richie Hawtin.

And if that dude is going around doing interviews and referring to your records as "ENTER.Classics," that's the Ibiza equivalent of being made for life. Today's MIXED BY comes courtesy of Whyt Noyz, a melodically-inclined techno duo that has received the support of the minimal messiah himself—and in December released their Back to the Future EP on his legendary M-Nus label.

Today's mix is entirely composed of original material, including all five tracks from the duo's M-Nus release. You won't find any festival build-ups, ratchet trap snares, or cheesy rage-inducing vocal bombs in this mix. What you will find is 60 minutes of expertly crafed minimal techno that rises and falls like the gentle tide laps the Spanish shore. If you're fans of iconic techno DJs Luciano, Dubfire, John Digweed, and Richie Hawtin himself then you'll appreciate the hypnosis therapy, and if you're new to the minimal techno sounds then you should remember: patience is a virtue.
