No One Can Resist John Foxx

John Foxx, the "Marcel Duchamp of electro-pop."

Every week, Time Travel conjures the ghosts of techno-futures past with selections from the dustiest corners of the WWW.

John Foxx - "No One Driving"

Peep the suave gentleman heading up this clip and you'll see why they called him John Foxx! Who can resist a man in a suit and eyeliner, amirite? Released as the second single off his 1980 album Metamatic, this video hits all the requisite New Wave bullet points: contrasting colored lights, smoke machines, dramatic silhouettes and mysteriously present venetian blinds. This video is also notable for the awesomely low-res digital effects that kick in around the middle of the clip. Add the bleak, Ballardian lyrics into the mix and you'll understand why Foxx considered himself the "Marcel Duchamp of electro-pop."
