Fekky, Neutrino and Chip Spit Under Bare Bulbs in the "Avirex" Video

What it looks like when three MCs bridge genres and eras in one low-ceilinged club.

Chances are, if you woke up this morning and thought that all you needed to see was UK Garage legend Neutrino rapping about panties while barrelling his way through a verse in a smoky, underground club hallway, you are some sort of psychic. Even if you don't happen to have a savant's abilities, we're still premiering the new visuals for Fekky's latest single, "Avirex," which crams in two very hard features from Neutrino and Chip.

It's the latest video to tease fans before Fekky's 18-track debut album El Clasico comes out on Friday 4 August. He's spent a good couple of years on it – we last chatted to him in 2015, after all – and from what we've heard of it so far he's given little thought to the endurance of your floorboards and how they'll put up with this many bangers being played at full volume.

For the 30-year-old, collaborating with an OG So Solid Crew member and ex-half of Oxide & Neutrino as well as north London's Chip seemed like no big deal. And as is always the case when presented with a link-up across styles and eras like this, we thought we'd ask the man himself about how it all came together. "The reason why I chose Neutrino to be on 'Avirex' was to rebuild a moment," Fekky told us. "In the sound of the track you can tell that, it's a fusion – it's garage meets grime meets rap. I still feel like I managed to explain my history of growing up, what I was wearing and where I was going on a track that's so energetic so I'm very happy about that."

Energetic is about right. Director Chas Appeti's video sees all three on one in the low-ceilinged space repurposed to a host a party, then outside running through their stories about first whips, the police looking for people to nab and mums not being best pleased with any of it. Seeing these three together, stepping across genre lines, is enough to bring a mum-like tear to any fan's eye, tbqh. "Chip for me bridged the gap between Neutrino's era and the next for new kids on the block like me," Fekky said. "The track's a very big one, so big that I feel like it really represents the UK and it shows you all the eras from then til now. It's like a history lesson, and I feel this track should be held as a moment. Another crazy moment in UK history, man."

To fully enjoy this moment, please ensure to toss your head back and scream out some combination of "aaayyy", "REWIND" or an airhorn imitation with your voice when that reload kicks in at the start. From then onwards, it's up to you.
