Remember earlier this year when increasingly cuddly rapper Waka Flocka Flame made adelightfully bonkersseries of commercials for Pine Brothers throat drops? KISS frontman,Jimi Hendrix fan, and women's dance class enthusiastPaul Stanley has just thrown down the gauntlet with a commercial of his own—and this one's even weirder. He filmed it for coffee giants Folgers back in 2000, but apparently it got canned after focus groups collectively asked "Who the fuck is this weird old guy and why is he lurking around this creepy circus tent?"As he said in a 2000 interview, "Life is strange. I got a call asking if I was interested in singing a Folgers commercial. And, like many other things, I thought, 'Why not?' I wasn't at all concerned with who thinks it is okay or not okay, cool, not cool, rock 'n' roll or not. I had a blast doing it, and, like I said, isn't that what this is all about?"True that, Paul, true that. It's really got everything, too: earth tones, trapeze artists, and Paul Stanley (dressed in Jerry Seinfeld's puffy shirt and unfortunately sans KISS makeup) cradling a cup of streaming hot Folgers and crooning earnestly around an abandoned American Horror Story: Freak Show set about how "the limit is the sky." It truly is a Christmas miracle.
