Have you noticed? We're in the throws of a global freeze which means oranges are withering on the branch, wind is whipping tears from eyeballs, and al fresco texting is no longer a viable mode of communication. Also, here's your sweet, sweet side dish of seasonal depression. You know the feeling. Unless you're living south of the border, I guess.
But why focus on the fact that we have to wear unfashionably cumbersome scarves to work every day to avoid dying of frostbite? Rather, spend time getting lost in the vivaciously cheerful “Thinkin’ of U” by Swedish artist David Alexander, better and more fittingly known as Summer Heart. (Just look how happy and carefree he is!) The track’s borderline incomprehensible lyrics—sound like a recent remembrance of the warmer days, complemented by a Balearic beat and addictive, nimble runs.It makes me feel like I’m sunbathing on the dock of some lake I’ve never been to while flipping through Polaroids with my best friends from summer camp (side note—I had no friends at summer camp IRL, so this memory is a lie). The weather still blows and the heating in your apartment still sucks (probably), but at least there are gems like this to warm up your life.
