JATA is Proposing a New Berlin Sound on His Latest Track "Ebony"

The producer releases a brooding, menacing track from his latest EP.

What do y'all know about Berlin? Usually we associate the city with hard-hitting techno that has the bass turned up so far it thumps around in the back of your throat, cheap beers that cost 79c, 24-hour metro travel, and semi-affordable houses. But here's something else: self-confessed synth-lover and producer JATA.

His latest EP - which is his second, and called The Bells - draws from a different pool to many of the acts we've come to associate with the German capital city. Instead of dark clubs, the sound of The Bells draws on his time spent studying jazz at university and DJing hip-hop. Below is "Ebony", a brooding track taken from that record, which menacingly bubbles along until the chorus comes to flood your senses, wishing and begging "to be yours". Listen below.
