Emily Vaughn Sounds “Better Off” On Young Bombs 80s Inspired Remix

Ms. Vaughn and Young Bombs let go of what could be a late Fall smash single.

“A lot of people like to categorize 'Better Off' as an upbeat breakup song, but I'd like to think of it as a colorful anthem of independence," says Florida singer Emily Vaughn about her recent single. And while we don’t disagree, the more "colourful aspects" are certainly on full display with the help of Vancouver, B.C. electro duo Young Bombs new re-work of "Better Off." Featuring infectious hi-hats and spacious chords the track gets a cool dream-pop uplift that promises to be late autumn hit for the much beloved "cuddling season."

"For the last little bit, we’ve been on a huge indie-pop crush, having remixed “War Paint” for Fletcher and “Compass” for Zella Day," Young Bombs explains. "When our management sent us this song by Emily Vaughn, the crush turned into a serious romance. Also, Tristan had just broken up with his girlfriend of five years, so lyrically, the song hit an emotional chord. We’ve also been listening to a lot of Kate Bush and CHVRCHES so it was nice to do something with a more 80s inspired sound.“
