Referee and Ballboy Try to Keep Cam Newton from Giving TD Ball to Kid

Two adults try to keep Cam Newton from giving a kid a souvenir.

After Carolina touchdowns, usually ones he scores or at least has a hand in scoring, Cam Newton likes to give the ball to a Panthers fan in the stands, usually a kid in a Panthers jersey. Against the Saints Sunday, he did it at least twice, although one kid almost didn't get the cool souvenir. After throwing a touchdown to a wide open Ted Ginn, who showed brief glimpses of not having bricks for hands yesterday, Cam tried to track down the ball to give to a fan who made the trip to the Superdome.

Ginn sort of tossed the ball away and a ref picked it up and refused to give it to Newton when he asked for it, instead opting to toss it to the ballboy on the sideline. Newton ran up to the ballboy—I should stop here and point out that he is actually a ball man—and the freaking ballboy tried to play keep away with Cam. What the hell, guys? Cam had to grab it out of the ballboy's hands so he could jog back behind the end zone and give it away. This is so embarrassing—you guys are supposed to be adults and you're playing keep away from a guy who just wants to do something cool for a kid. I don't even know what to say, I just wish he had taken it from the ballboy and tossed it back to the ref. Or back to the ballboy.

While we are talking about Cam, we need to talk about the Dab. I have two quick points to make, but the long and the short of it is: he needs to stop doing the Dab.
