IRS Chief Investigator Goes Pun Happy at FIFA Press Conference

IRS Chief of Criminal Investigation Richard Weber made a whole bunch of weird sports pun while announcing the FIFA indictments.

My man Richard Weber, IRS Chief of Criminal Investigation, sees an opportunity and he grabs it, shakes it around, and makes a bunch of horrible-and-oftentimes-unrelated sports puns. Weber was on hand for the Department of Justice's press conference regarding the indictment of several high-ranking FIFA officials not named Sepp Blatter and he opened his short time in front of the cameras with a doozy. Being the fourth speaker of the morning, Weber said it was "great to be batting cleanup here, today," which is not even soccer, man. Come on.

He then went on to say that this was "the World Cup of fraud" and that the justice department was showing FIFA a red card which, while definitely a (relevant) soccer pun, is a very weird thing to say at a press conference announcing criminal charges! I mean, who gets sent off? All of FIFA? Is there a penalty kick? Who takes it? Messi? Ronaldo? Zlatan? Definitely Zlatan.
