Watch the Time-Traveling Video For Joakim's "This Is My Life," And Listen to a Kindness Remix

"In 1986, I fell in love with a Vietnamese girl."

Life. The past. Memories like rocks skipping across the still river of time. Pretty crazy stuff, all things considered. French producer and Tigersushi label boss Joakim turned 25 today; its October 25th, making this his "

golden birthday

." To celebrate, he's releasing a video recounting some of his life's foundational moments. "In 1986, I fell in love with a Vietnamese girl," intones a computerized voice. "In 1990, the world went to war."

The video takes place on Joakim's computer screen, messy consciousness erupting from the static network.

"Obsessed by our everyday vision surroundings, 'This Is My Life' hacks your laptop and takes control in a big bordelo standing between Joakim's real life and stunt fantasy,” explains the video's director Fafi.

Joakim's also releasing an EP, including a remix by Everyone, his collaboration with disco heavyweight Kindness. There's also a solo Kindness remix which you can stream below. It sparkles and shimmers, like one of those birthday candles you can't blow out. Cop the whole EP here, and read up on Joakim's Firsties and Faves while you're at it.
