Listen to Mean Jeans and the Late Jay Reatard Cover Nirvana

Off of Robotic Empire's upcoming Nirvana tribute, the only Nirvana tribute worth listening to.

Normally, Nirvana tributes are a waste of everyone’s time. Sorry, but no one wants to hear your half-assed attempt at paying homage to Kurt. (Let his hometown do that.) But when long-running hardcore/screamo label Robotic Empire announced that they had one in the works, well, that was a different story. With covers by bands like Ceremony, Pygmy Lush, Thursday, and Daughters, all of a sudden, Nirvana tributes seem interesting again.

Here are two of the best songs on it—Mean Jeans’ take on “Very Ape” and the infamous Jay Reatard cover of “Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle”, one of Jay’s final recordings, now remastered.
