Cry Tears of Rap-Based Joy as You Stream DVS's 'Mutant League'

Featuring such underground rap stalwarts as Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire, Kool A.D., Antwon, and Lakutis.

If you don't know much about the rapper DVS, you might be tempted to refer to him as the Rapper Laureate of Weird Twitter™. That would be incorrect. Though DVS is indeed on Twitter and very hilarious on it, he's definitely a hard-nosed, fast-rapping New York rapguy first and an internet guy second. He's putting the finishing touches on his mixtape DVTV (listen to "Charlie Chaplin" from it here), and just in case you don't already know, DVS is dropping Mutant League, a compilation of all the tracks he's appeared on in the past couple of years. It includes both songs you might have already heard (like his collaborations with Lakutis, Big Baby Gandhi, Antwon, Kool A.D., Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire, etc.), but it also includes some new/rare joints, such as the brand new "We Made It," incredibly-named "Moonsault" and the Just Blaze-ian banger "Oh My God."

But enough of my yakkin'. Listen to Mutant League below, and because I am not as good at talking about DVS as DVS is, I asked him to give you a guided tour to the tape. It is below the below SoundCloud widget.

To download the tape in full, click here.

DVS: MUTANT LEAGUE IS A COMPILATION OF ALL SORTS OF WILD FEATURE JOINTS I'VE DONE RECENTLY SO YOU CAN HAVE THEM ALL IN ONE PLACE. NO I KNOW. NO, IT’S MY PLEASURE. NO, STOP. I WOULDN'T CALL MYSELF A "HERO" BUT…NO…OK IF YOU INSIST. NO YES THANK YOU I WOULD *LOVE* AN ICED TEA.

1. Moonsault (produced by Steel Tipped Dove)
Moonsault is a song about how great I am. Sometimes I survey the landscape of modern American music and realize that only 30-50% of it is about me and how I am fantastic. So, I took it upon myself to fix things. it's called being proactive.

2. Editgod f. Bill Ding, Lakutis (produced by Bill Ding)
Bill Ding is a phenomenal rapper/producer who also produced the single "Money Train" off my upcoming release DVTV. DVTV is coming out very soon and features Kool AD, Himanshu, Mae Whitman, Lakutis, Poison Pen, Majesty, and Weekend $. You finna like it and you may find yourself scared because it's so good. That's fine. If you're scared you can just say you're scared. We're all friends here, nahmean? Anyway so one time me and Bill Ding made this song also. Here it is.

3. Death Adders f. Heron, SicksentZ, Lakutis, Mr Muthafuckin eXquire

This is a wild posse cut we filmed a wild-ass video for. If you maybe just was born and don't know what a naked woman or a party looks like, you could view the video for reference. Or if you forgot.

Video Premier: SicksentZ ft. Heron, Lakutis, DVS, MR. MFN eXquire- Death Adders from SicksentZ on Vimeo.

4. We Made It f. Big Baby Gandhi, Lakutis (produced by Big Baby Gandhi)
This is the most windy-rooftop-as-viewed-from-a-helicopter song ever made. You're welcome.

5. 56k remix f. Big Baby Gandhi, Nasty Nigel, Lansky, Antwon, Chippy Nonstop, Lakutis, Kitty, Weekend $ (produced by Hot Sugar)
When Hot Sugar called us together to his secret underground lair and said he wanted us to get together and kill Superman, I was skeptical. But then…

6. Rap Genius f. Kool AD,Lakutis, Dallas Penn, Meyhem Lauren (produced by Amaze 88)
I had just got a G-Pen the day this got done. I was all "prolly I should hit it like 500 times to make sure it works.” I spent most of the rest of the day blinking. But then this song happened also? Not extra sure how. But so, that’s a full day I feel like.

7. Oh My God f. Majesty
This is off Overthrow Entertainment's co-founder Majesty's tape "Beyond A Reasonable Doubt" and is VERY good.

8. Black Swann f. Lakutis (produced by SicksentZ)
Remember when there was that McDonalds commercial with the dude with the ventriloquist dummy and the dummy was always tryina not share his fries or whatever? That shit was fucked up.

9. No Stoppin Us Now f. J Buddhas (produced by J Buddhas/DVS)
Yo REAL TALK TRUE STORY. The first time me and J Buddhas from Bronx Zu tried to record this joint, we got arrested on the way to the studio. Weeks later we go to give it another shot and as we're getting ready to record, Federal Marshals knocked at the door and made us
leave and sealed the spot up. Few years later we actually managed to finish it against all odds.

10.True Blood f. Big Baby Gandhi, Lakutis (produced by Cutty Carmichael)
Ayo fuck around if you ain't tried that new Mariah Carey drink it is WILD good. Taste like some ol crazy kinda kool aid but like made by people who were worried about "will rich people drink this? Make sure its BANANAS.” Also if YOU are this drink and/or the company and/or Mariah Carey, I would like many cases of this for free.

11. Swann Gangg f. Lakutis (produced by Dash Speaks)
I'm not gonna lie, when Jane Krakowski was first on Ally McBeal I was like “Iunno who this is but Iont like her, she's annoying.”.See, but THEN you watch 30 Rock and you realize she was just gettin’ her chi up. Like, "Elaine" from Ally McBeal is like a proto-Jenna Maroney. Then you go back and watch Ally McBeal and it’s more "OHHH OK. Nah, I see you…nah keep doin’ your thing.”.So it all works out. Thats maybe a metaphor for life too if you want.

12. Daytona 900 f. Big Baby Gandhi, Kass One, Tecla, Chaz Van Queen,
Lukas, Davito, Iron Solomon, Kool AD
You may look at this song and notice there are very many people on it. Maybe more people than are on YOUR song. That's OK, though, everyone's different.
