NOISEY 057: HOLGER

Friends since an early age, the five members of Holger started off playing in tiny venues across Brazil. This budding project flirted with the classic indie rock sounds of Pavement and Dinosaur Jr. Quickly they gathered a faithful audience and recorded their first EP, Green Valley. Soon thereafter the invitations began rolling in for opening slots on bigger Brazilian tours.

It wasn’t long before they brought their music to the rest of the world, as the band landed coveted spots on the North American festival circuit. With their popularity growing, they began to explore different musical ideas, glazing their songs in a balmy, tropical finish. In 2010 they released Sunga, their first proper full-length.
