KraftKlub is an indie-rock hip-hop hybrid from Chemnitz, Germany. There doesn’t seem to be a whole lot to do out there. The city suffered heavy bombing during the Second World War, and was rebuilt with drab low-rise housing. KraftKlub formed a band to deal with that sense of tedium, and headed out on tour to escape their confinement.
KraftKlub’s recent rise has been meteoric. They’ve only been together since the start of 2010, but initiated a major label feeding frenzy as soon as they started playing live. Their sound remains divisive for fans though; rap-rock bands generally have it pretty rough. They don’t have too many friends to back them up, either. Deichkind and K.I.Z. are allies, but more in spirit than in sound. But at the end of the day, you get the sense that KraftKlub doesn’t mind being out there on their own.
