When youthful psychosis collides with cheap equipment, the result can be anything from earth-shattering disaster to earth-shattering success. Ideally, it would sound something like Chuckamuck.
One listen to this Berlin foursome and it’s that they’re unconcerned with making “art“, “building a career,” or even mastering their instruments. Rather, Chuckamuck is a band that gets to the root of why people pick up guitars in the first place: fun, brainlessness, and unlimited access to booze.
With that in mind, Lorenz, Jules, Oska, and Jiles are pros in their own right. You won‘t find any hint of accuracy surrounding their lo-fi, garage rock frenzy. What you will find are some serious party-time bangers. Lyrically, Chuckamuck isn’t afraid to address the real stuff of life—girls, friendship, and candy bars.
Following the release of their Wild For Adventure LP on the renowned indie label Staatsakt Records, Chuckamuck have, in no time at all, become the darlings of Germany‘s indie rock scene. Known just as much for their irresistibly charming, snotty brat attitude as their music, Chuckamuck’s live shows defy all rules of etiquette and have garnered the attention of music critics likening them such bands as Black Lips, the Kinks, and the Libertines.
