Duddi Wallace
Hip-hop is hands down the most popular genre of music on the Iberian peninsula right now, yet the radio and music TV stations still prefer to focus on sappy pop stars like Alejandro Sanz, or worse, cardboard cut out rappers like Haze. Enter Duddi Wallace, the Braveheart of Spain’s rap scene – taking a sword to the tyranny of the majors by repping good quality hip-hop that doesn’t sound like it was made in 1993.
Born on the outskirts of Madrid to parents from Equatorial Guinea, Duddi first started making mixtapes in 2006. It wasn’t long before he was taken under the wings of Jota Mayúscula and Supernafamacho, two founding members of the formative Spanish gangsta rap crew CPV. Since then, a steady stream of mixtapes and YouTube videos have earned him a large fan base in Madrid.
