Austin TV formed in Mexico City in 2001, and has proven themselves as one of Mexico’s most admired acts. This experimental five-piece claims that its got no direct influences, but post-rock, grunge, shoegaze and math-rock emerge from their wild instrumental haze. They’ve released three long-players and a live DVD, and recently reformed after a sizeable interval.
The band is fully committed to the live music experience. During the summer of 2008 they staged a special performance called “Dogs Can Predict Earthquakes” at the Teatro Metrópolitan, one of Mexico City’s most influential theatres. In addition to performing live music, the show had a strong theatrical element, with actors and dancers dressed up as dogs while the band performed for a packed house.
