One the more memorable moments this summer at Lollapalooza was during Yellow Ostrich's set, during which a guy proposed to his girlfriend on stage in front of thousands of cheering fans. While there wasn't a proposal on Wednesday night at the Bowery Ballroom, there were an abundance of girls swooning over lead singer/guitarist Alex Schaaf.
The band played a rocking set, mostly from this year's Strange Land LP and Ghost, their newly released EP, which was mixed by Darby Cicci of the Antlers, who joined the band on stage for 'Won't Fade Away."
When mentioned to music journalist Michael Azerrad that I noticed that the audience was comprised mostly of females, he commented that it's not a bad place for a band to be at this point in their career.
