These Op Art Record Covers Will Make Your Eyes Bleed

Noisey

By Jeff Ogiba
Deerhunter - Cryptograms (2007)
This second album by Atlanta Georgia indie rockers uses a technique to generate an effect similar to a "moire pattern," that nauseating effect when you look out a car window while passing two sets of chain linked fences, one in front of another.

Op art (or optical art) is a style of visual art that creates optical illusions. This can be really interesting as well as really, really sickening. Here are a few of my favorite examples of op art used on album covers. I apologize in advance for the headache.
