Style Stage's Headhunter College Tour: Miami

We kicked off our Style Stage Headhunter College tour by heading down to Florida to find a guy and a girl to send to music festivals around the country. We won't be sending them for our own amusement or theirs. They have a serious job to do: talking to festival goers about music, hair and style trends.

Our first stop, University of Miami, and students were definitely intrigued by the giant green tour bus and some of the college's bravest stopped by to try their luck. Style-wise, the students were pretty laidback. There were a couple pajama-clad unmentionables, but overall the students showed us that despite the humidity and 90 degree Florida sun, it's possible to look good and not sticky or worse, perpetually sunburnt. U Miami students preferred a more natural look: girls opted for wavy flowing locks to match their flowy dresses. Denim cutoffs and t-shirts were another U Miami staple. For the guys it was all about tank-tops and shorts or jeans, their hair close-shaven to combat the heat, or side swept and shaggy.

I love fashion, music, and travel and this type of opportunity would incorporate all three of my favorite things! I already frequent festivals very often, so being able to go and actually practice in real life what I’m studying would be a dream come true.

I think it would be so fun! The way we do our hair and the way we dress is an outright expression of us, and it would be so great to examine what inspires people to express themselves the way they do.

Why do you want to be the host of Headhunter?

I love clothes, style, hair, accessories, and music, and all of the thought that goes into putting together an ensemble. I think it’s so interesting to watch people and see what choices they make and why. Also, not to sound creepy, but I love people watching. Mike Coogan

Why do you want to be the host of Headhunter?

I love music and as an artist myself, I feel like I have a better understanding because of my background. I connect to a variety of people and a variety of musical genres and artists. I’d love the opportunity to report on them.
