Meatbodies Unveils Trippy New Video for “Rotten”

Ty Segall's main man drops out of life with fuzz pedals in hand

We’re all just made of meat. Some of us like to pretend that we’re stardust or light or whatever, but we’re really just sheets of muscle and fat lashed to a few frail bones, walking around acting like we’re fancy. Meatbodies understands this, and channels their frustration at the absurdity of life through a comfortingly warped psychedelic haze.

Meatbodies is the brainchild of Chad Ubovich, known best for his work with Mikal Cronin and FUZZ. He’s a protégé of Ty Segall, who released some of Chad’s first bedroom recordings on humble cassette. Soon after, In The Red came knocking and snapped up the rights to Meatbodies' first foray into LP-land. The band’s eponymous debut LP kept it all in the family, sporting a garage-ready production engineered by master knob-twiddler Eric "King Riff" Bauer (Mikal Cronin, Ty Segall, Thee Oh Sees, White Fence, FUZZ) and mastered by Chris Woodhouse. Meatbodies features musical contributions from Cory Hanson (Wand), Ty Segall, Erik Jimenez (Together Pangea) and Riley Youngdahl, and was released on October 14 by In The Red.
