NOISEY 018: CRANE ANGELS
Date: 2010-11-26 | Venue: L'ESPACE B | Location: Paris, France /* | Genre: pop */ ?>
Crane Angels
Noisey met Crane Angels last November when Paris was snowed under. We read each other’s palms before they played a breezy show at Espace B, and then a second at Cabaret Sauvage. By this point everyone was ready for bed, but these free spirits could barely convey anything beyond the blind, grinning enthusiasm that they’re known for.
There are officially thirteen people in this Bordeaux indie-pop outfit, but it’s a pretty amorphous group. They started out as a choir, and now form a loose troupe called the Icerberg Collective. Their leader “Mr. Crane” fronts the operation, and additional members breeze in and out as jobs and lives come into play. There’s no hard feelings though. The entire project is a labor of love, and it comes across at their adorable shows. The stage show is buoyant and chaotic, with a stage full of members belting out songs and the audience climbing onstage to join in.
