I spent all weekend at a #trap festival in the middle of Delaware, watching #TurntUp teens wile out to processed hi-hats and Nicki Minaj samples until the cows literally came home. While this wasn't exactly objectionable, I found myself thirsting, by the end, for a draught of something a little more turned-down. Thankfully "Stay, Don't Say" is exactly that—at first glance, Dead Gaze seem to be peddling pretty, upfront acoustic balladry, but closer listening reveals tectonic guitar lines shifting far beneath, evincing a shoegazer's sense of scale.
