Once upon a time, a record executive told Mary Bragg that if she didn't have anything to say, she needed to go out and live a little. So that's exactly what she did. The result was her fantastic 2004 debut album Certain Simple Things, which established her as a serious Americana artist. Thirteen years later, Mary Bragg just self released her fourth album, Lucky Strike, a record beautifully weaves rock, folk, and Americana. Today we're premiering Bragg's video for the single "Wildfire." Of the song, Bragg writes via email: "When this got written, I had been spending a lot of time on metaphor writing, and in the beautifully inexplicable way that life lines up with song ideas, I happened to have this title on deck when my co-writer Liz Longley came over and, well, she had some fresh fodder for the song. On my back porch in the sun, we talked and wrote and talked and wrote and talked some more about how tough it is, yet how necessary it is to see the end of a relationship that could've been the one, but just wasn't quite it. 'Wildfire' is unconcerned with sugarcoating a reality that's difficult to swallow. "
