Ezra Furman: "I Wanna Destroy Myself"

"I Wanna Destroy Myself" will not make you want to destroy yourself.
Ryan Bassil
London, GB

Ezra Furman and Ezra Koenig are probably the only two people called Ezra in the whole world who make good music. But if Ezra Koenig makes music for the prosecco‘n’olive conglomerate on Jay Gatsby’s area of West Egg, then Ezra Furman makes songs for the whisky‘n’whorehouse contingent. It’s the sense of prohibition-era rockabilly breathed into a modern day after-life for kids who still don’t give a fuck. Above is his new video for “I Wanna Destroy Myself” which should always be used as a REALLY LOUD antidote for the sort of crushing embarrassment that comes from being blindsided by your crush in some sort of HBO worthy segment.
