Take a Load off with SPORTS’ New Track “Reality TV”

Aren’t we all just confused young adults channel surfing our way through life?

When the weight of the world is bearing down on your shoulders, sometimes the best thing to do is to buy a family-sized bag of chips, climb into bed, and immerse yourself in someone else’s problems via the great modern phenomenon that is Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

SPORTS have articulated this pretty accurately on their new track “Reality TV”, premiering below. Comprised of five friends straight out of Kenyon College, Ohio, SPORTS have captured the air of uncertainty that permeates those initial, uneasy steps into adulthood in a reflective but also spontaneous way. It’s accompanied by an animated video featuring a television set to a channel that only screens “REALITY TV” on repeat (if you look close enough it's either tuned to “dogs” or “boys” or literally just “0045”). It’s a scene that anybody who has ever tried to repress their own heartbreak will recognize in an instant.

“Reality TV” is taken from SPORTS’ forthcoming sophomore record All of Something, which was recorded with Kyle Gilbride who fronts Swearin’ alongside Allison Crutchfield and has worked with fellow experts of emoting: Waxahatchee, All Dogs, and Girlpool. It comes out on October 30 via Father/Daughter Records and is available to pre-order now on vinyl or iTunes.
