The name Aeroplane Mode has a literal meaning. When writing music Jess and Alex would put their phones on airplane mode and let their creative juices flow. That was three years ago, when the classically trained musicians were pitching their work to other artists. Now they're doing their own thing. The reason being? The music started to become more personal.Jess had a massive tragedy in her family; Alex suffered significant heartbreak.
