How Lady Gaga Potentially Trolled The Internet

And became an overnight rap sensation.

Lady Gaga may have just trolled the internet and announced her foray into the trap-rap game with a track called “Cake Like Gaga.”

Gaga’s producer, DJ White Shadow, uploaded the track to Soundcloud last night with the following announcement: “I just made this TRAP shit, so I am going to put it on my soundcloud. Then I am going to give everyone a couple hrs to make a song. You send it back to me and I will put the best one back out for everyone to hear.”

He then added, “Extra bonus points for whoever writes a song about @ladygaga.” Cheeky. He went on to say,“In an unusual twist of fate, the winner has asked not to be announced!”

The following track appeared on his Soundcloud account.

What’d you think? It sounds nothing like Gaga, right? It sounds like the sort of shit some minor member of Odd Future would release—y’know, with the vocals all pitched down and shit.

Of course, Gaga fans, being Gaga fans, did a little bit of investigating. Some resourceful fan, or at least, some kid with too much spare time on his/her hands, pitched the volume of the track back up and VOILA.

THIS.

Sounds a little more Gaga, don’t you think? You can almost hear the flair on her voice as she raps about AKs and birthday cake.

There’s no word from Gaga or DJ White Shadow on the origins of the track, but either way, it’s pretty cool. Personally, I’ve got my fingers crossed that it IS Gaga and that her new record ARTPOP will be doused in some sort of hoodrat shit. I’m tired of the Madonna sampling.
