Here's the Video for Field Music's Weirdly Cheery "Disappointed"

The track comes from the duo's sixth record 'Commontime.'

UK post-punk revivalists Field Music—comprised of brothers Peter and David Brewis—released their sixth studio album last month, Commontime. It's a tricky little record, one that feels like you're walking through a house built by an eccentric archetict on a lot of cocaine in the 80s—sleek and white walled with lots and lots of funky little designs on the carpet, the kind of place where the owner would welcome you to sit inside of an egg while you enjoy a cup of tea and listen to some self-help tape that talks about how you need to stop eating grapes for some vague fearful reason. But at the time, it makes sense, man, and like all great art, it invites you to slip into its mindset. Commontime is jazzy, elegant, and sounds kind of like painful sunshine. It's marvelous.

Below, Noisey is premiering the video for the duo's track "Disappointed," a chippy sounding track about failing yourself and the people you love. Or, to put it another way, this is all very British. The director of the video, Andy Martin, has this to say: “It was partly inspired by me seeing (many years ago) the bullet time technique used in a Ryoichiro Debuchi film from the early 80s. We filmed these bullet time sequences on a freezing January day in the sports hall/gym of the Sans Street Youth and Community Centre (thanks to them!), which is in the East End of Sunderland. Pete and Dave used to play football there when they were younger, think their Mum used to work there.”
