Fall Out Boy Leaked Their Own Album on Purpose

Instead of leaving it to fate, the self-proclaimed saviors of Rock and Roll decided to leak their latest album themselves.

Seems like every single major-label artist suffers from the dreaded album leak, whether it's from some dumbass record label person losing a flash drive containing the next number-one album in a bar, or from some nefarious engineer decides to sell a bunch of MP3's to some Swedish information pirate. Either way, if you're a Big Deal Recording Artist and you don't want people getting their hands on your album before it drops, you're pretty much shit outta luck.

Enter Fall Out Boy. Warped Tour heroes. Noted Lil Wayne collaborators. Scrappy Chicagoans who love-threatened to burn down the city just to show us the light and were the last best thing in this pop-punk part of town. Instead of leaving it to fate, the self-proclaimed saviors of Rock and Roll decided to leak their latest album themselves. Save Rock and Roll includes features from Elton John, Courtney Love, AND Big Sean (who makes a Simple Plan reference in his verse!), in case you were doubting the drawing power of Pete Wentz in 2013. You can hear it over at Fall Out Boy HQ, along with a hilariously self-important message to Fall Out Boy fans worldwide.
