No Need to be Sad Forever, Listen to Divino Niño's "Time" Instead

Divino Niño sound a bit like the band that plays at The Roadhouse in Twin Peaks, or Mac Demarco if Mac Demarco was somehow a thousand times more chill than he already is.

Based in Chicago with roots in Latin America, Divino Niño is a band known for slinky garage-psych with hella pop harmonies and liberal use of percussion. They sound a bit like the band that plays at The Roadhouse in Twin Peaks, or Mac Demarco if Mac Demarco was somehow a thousand times more chill than he already is. The band are about to drop their second album The Shady Sexyfornia Tapes, which is the greatest album title since Isaac Hayes' Hot Buttered Soul, and we're premiering the first single called "Time" below.

“The concept of time is always messing with my head," Camilo Medina tells us, "I feel like it allows you to grow and better understand yourself but at the same time it makes you realize that the world is more complex and fucked up than you thought. I remember recording this track in our living room thinking ‘damn this is too dark and melancholic’ so we mixed it with a romantic tune that was floating in the air. No need to be sad forever you know?”

Listen below.

The Shady Sexyfornia Tapes will be released via The Native Sound on May 13 and is available to pre-order now.
