Whoa, Here's Lil Wayne on the Remix to DeJ Loaf's "Me U & Hennessy"

Lil Wayne's on the remix of DeJ Loaf's killer sex jam and somehow isn't making it super awkward.

DeJ Loaf put out my favorite project of 2014, and, while a lot of the attention for that mixtape is rightly focused on swaggering songs like "We Good" and "Blood," one of the undeniable highlights is "Me U & Hennessy," a rare sex jam that isn't awkward or over-the-top or gratuitously graphic. It feels genuinely intimate, and, for lack of a better word, sexy.

Lil Wayne then, with his history of awkward, over-the-top, and gratuitously graphic sex lyrics, seems like the perfect candidate to ruin such a song, but, against all odds, here he is on the remix, not doing that. It's his most incorporation of romantic candles since "With You"—arguably better since he doesn't say "I'ma eat her like pita rolls"—with his own encouraging hook of "couple candles / no TVs reporting bad news / just me and Hennessey annnnd you." Its one of the most personable and least jokey Wayne verses I've heard in a while. Like, how about this lyric for candor: "while I make us a drink / and I don't drink / so while you're not looking I pour some out in the sink."

Also, although the combo makes perfect sense because DeJ Loaf has all the buzz in the world right now, let's just reiterate what a huge fucking co-sign it is to have Lil Wayne on this song. Has that sunk in yet? Sweet. Let's carry on and listen below:
