Bashy May Have Made This Summer's Best Grime Anthem

Bashy, we salute you sir. You may have just crafted the biggest grime track of this summer.

All of the old school grime fans can join me in unison to ask about Bashy's whereabouts. Some may remember him as the West London MC who sucked XXXL Chupa Chups and almost made Ghetto cry. It’s been yonkers since he last blessed us with goodness, instead serving sub-par verses unworthy of his reputable name. The last time we were calling his name – his impressive movie career aside, if you ain't seen Shank you don't know cinema – was for “Black Boys”. That real-talk anthem that came out around all the London shankings a couple years back. Now he’s returned and we’re happier than the daddy in The Prodigal Son parable. Not only because we needed some genuine grime flows in the charts, but because there’s chat of Heartless Crew and Maschino whisked into his new track “These Are The Songs”. We've been transported back to a time when people paid for Nokia 3310 fascias and Crazy Frog ringtones. OK, there is one sizeable bone to pick. Drum and bass break choruses need to fall back, DJ Fresh ruined the for everyone. But that doesn't spoil our high. Bashy, we salute you sir. You may have just crafted the biggest grime track of this summer.
