Go Sing on the Shores of Europe in Yann Tiersen's New Video for "A Midsummer Evening"

Before you listen to this, put on a blazer, hat, and pick up a copy of a newspaper. Let's get sophisticated.

Hey, what's up Noisey readers? Are you just waking up? Did you just spark a bowl of that sweet, sweet baby purple kush? Well, good, because it's time for you to have some culture knowledge dropped on you. Here, we're happy to premiere the video for "A Midsummer Evening" from Yann Tiersen. No, it's not some new internet rapper from Amersterdam who only wears boat shoes with skinny sweatpants. Instead, Tiersen is an accomplished Breton musician who's been composing music for soundtracks for the last couple of decades—in particular Amelie, an Academy Award-nominated French film from the early 2000s—on top of releasing numerous studio albums. The above video was a livestream performance of his new record [Inifnity] and was shot on the shores of the island of Ushant in Brittany, France, which is where he lives. You can stream the full show here, and the film was directed by Bui Lê Quang with sound by Benoit Gilg. Anyway, next time you talk to your parents and they bring up something they read in the New York Times, mention this guy and they'll be impressed.
