Premiere: Bundle Up with The Hearts' 'Equal Love' Album

These Edmonton folk-rockers have the perfect album for the autumn blues.

Right now in Canada, the temperature is dropping fast. Like, Sonic the Hedgehog fast, and everyone's scrambling for those layers they stowed away during the summer. Edmontonian sextet The Hearts probably know a thing or two about the cold, so it's great that they've gifted us with Equal Love, their warm toque of a new album. With its ambient synth-led intro, opener "Easy Love" lays out The Hearts' mix of harmony-laden folk-rock and synth-pop, a formula that makes these guys great for fans of Phosphorescent or Mutual Benefit. "Cold Connection" is a would-be rock radio smash, all funky drumming and soaring group "oooooohs". The rest of Equal Love is, well, equally comforting and thoughtful throughout so go give the entire thing a listen while you find that thermos.
