The boys of summer just rolled up—months late, dripping with blood and sporting manic grins. The futuristic sons of Sam square off against baton-wielding, keyboard-playing pigs, and the whole thing feels like a deleted scene from some psychedelic sci-fi art film. That's exactly what the band in Heaven was going for, though—aided and abetted by Ben Mendelewicz (formerly of Adult Swim). The band has just released a brand new, two-song 7" onHoZac Records and Decades Records.Mastered by Pete Kember (Sonic Boom) of Spacemen 3/Spectrum and written to a lilting soundtrack of serial killer documentaries, it's a trippy taste of where this heavy psych-drenched shoegaze troupe is heading (either to Hell or to Jupiter, as far as we can tell). Check out the video for "The Boys of Summer of Sam" and place your own bets.Grab the songs fromthe band in Heaven's Bandcamp page, the vinyl 7" fromHoZac, and the cassette fromDecades.
