Premiere: Seeing Past with Weaves

The unconventional quartet is set to release a self titled debut that sounds like spring time and happiness.

Weaves is a guerrilla four-piece band led by Jasmyn Burke and Morgan Waters. Reluctant to hide behind a wall of reverb or instantly affiliate with a scene, they focused on mirroring pop sensibilities while evoking a vivid experience with their music. Their self-titled project will be coming out on April 1st, but a steady stream of singles has made the wait easier to bear. The latest song, Do You See Past is a melodic and sacharine offering that forces you to tap your toes.

Weaves also teamed up with Scion Sessions for their live performance music video for their song Hulahoop. After collaborating with the band for the Scion Sessions Long Winter Volume 3 Split 7” back in January, Scion Sessions joined forces with Weaves once again for the video. It was shot at the Great Hall in Toronto with the spirit of Long Winter as a catalyst, and visual artist Anni Spadafora’s Jean Jacket, which appeared with the band at the Season 2 Volume 3 event.
