UPDATE: The main producer credited on "Started from the Bottom" is OVO signee Mike Zombie, with Noah "40" Shebib on additional production, and while 40 is listed as co-producer on "Look What You've Done," it's actually his partner Surf Club's Chase N Cashe who saw Drake post the Static Major video on October's Very Own and pinched the sound off the Youtube, as per his explanation at Rap Genius.

We've seen many Batman and Robin pairings in the music industry. From Justin Timberlake and Timbaland, to Action Bronson and The Alchemist, a good relationship between artist and producer usually results in magic. Noah “40” Shebib is one of Drake’s greatest friend and right hand man in the music industry, and thanks to Shebib's early exposure to technology and experimentation with samples and flips, Noah can almost make anything into a number one song. Here we have comprised five of 40’s most ridiculous how-the-fuck-did-he-do-that flips and samples.

Ten Minute Ambient Piano Piece Becomes "Started From the Bottom"

Noah pinpoints the melody of a ten-minute piano drone piece and decides to trap the fuck out of it. The melody is slow and distant in the original, and Noah decides to cut the most incremental notes to create an ominious, faster, trance of a melody that we are all too familiar with now. Who knew classical ballads could bang so hard? The sample starts at around 0:50.

A Random Static Major Video Becomes "Look What You've Done"

The Static Major and Smoke E. Digglera track that plays throughout this song is actually an excerpt from old footage of the duo just playing around. The song is no more than two to three smooth chords, and 40 decided to pay a hoamge to Static by using this video as the basis for one of the more emotional songs on Take Care. Emphasizing 40's ability to make almost anything into a beat, Aubrey Graham decides to drake all over this five-minute melancholy beat. Flip starts at 1:02.

A British Electronic Song Becomes "Dreams Money Can Buy"

Jai Paul is an English electronic R&B artist and this song serves as the root of this song. No, we don't know why Jai Paul won't put out any more music either, but at least we have this song.

Track from 80s Funk/Soul Duo Becomes "Lust for Life"

The sample from this song is Perry and Sanlin’s “I’m So Glad There’s You,” proving to be another firm example of 40’s fondness for old school R&B and jazz and his grassroots. Sample starts right at 0:00.

R&B Jazz Song "6 8" Becomes "Jungle"

"Jungle" quickly became one of our favorite songs from If You're Reading This It's Too Late. "6 8" by Gabriel Garzon Montano is the foundation for the atmospheric track. This song has now become his most popular track and houses almost half a million plays on soundcloud.
