Watch Jay Z Explain Whatever Tidal Is

Let's stream some music, baby.

via Tidal

Listening to music is one of the best things you can do. In fact, we love listening to music so much that we run a website that's all about music (it's called Noisey, duh). Today, Jay Z is launching his streaming music service called Tidal, which is already being called a rival to Spotify. The goal of it is to provide high-fidelity listening—but unlike Spotify's current incarnation, there is no free version; there is only a $19.95 monthly subscription. To raise awareness, today famous musicians—Kanye West, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Jack White, and Madonna to name a few—all tweeted their support of the product. We're still not sure what the details are exactly, but Jay Z will be addressing the press today at 5 PM. We have the embed below.
