Chew on Dragged Into Sunlight and Gnaw Their Tongues's Nightmarish New Track, "Omniscienza"

The bleakest thing you'll hear all year.

It's been a minute since we heard from Dragged into Sunlight. For a couple of years, they were everywhere, their balaclava-shrouded faces glaring out from magazines and their claustrophobic stage show terrorizing audiences across the globe. The press raved about them, fans loved to be unsettled by them, and the band members themselves clung to the kind of anonymity that few musicians are still able to enjoy.

Then, all of a sudden, they disappeared—gone from sight, save for the odd festival appearance or far-flung mini-tour. The collective behind Dragged into Sunlight was far from idle during this fallow period, though, and the end result is about to be revealed via Prosthetic Records later this month (November 13, to be exact).

N.V. is the band's new collaborative album with Dutch dark noise experimentalists Gnaw Their Tongues, and honestly, it sounds exactly how you'd expect a collaborative recording between an extreme metal band and an extreme noise band. The track "Omniscienza" (which we're premiering below) features lots of layers of distortion and noise, panicky, off-kilter death metal riffs, harshly barked vocals, clanging industrial shudders, creepy spoken word, all roiling beneath an overall bleak, harrowing, you're-fucked atmosphere. Abandon hope, and press play.

Catch DIS on tour across Europe (with a quick stopover in Baltimore) later this year.
